Gun Cleaning

Professional Gun Cleaning Is Cheaper Than You Think

"To spend top dollar for a quality firearm and not keep it cleaned is a real crime"

Most people buy nice things to keep for extended periods of time.

Whether the purchase is for pleasure or investment, we would like for the item to retain or increase in value as time goes on.

Proper cleaning of a firearm will help the firearm increase in value, as well as, performance. Here are a few of the dirty little secrets to gun cleaning:

  1. Never clean a gun with ammunition in the same area. Put all ammunition away before starting the cleaning process. Oils and solvents do not mix well with primers.

  2. Make sure you have plenty of room to spread out your cleaning equipment and gun parts.

  3. Make sure the area is well ventilated and has plenty of light.

  4. Use quality cleaning materials such as Hoppes or Breakfree oils & solvents, and plenty of clean cotton patches.

  5. Bore-Snakes are quickly becoming the method of choice for cleaning firearms. They last long and are available for most firearms.

  6. Give yourself plenty of time to properly clean your firearms. Do not rush through and do a halfhearted job.

If you do not have the time or simply do not like cleaning your firearms after each outing, you may want to consider having your gun professionally cleaned at the Belleville Indoor Shooting Range

We offer top quality products and hand clean the weapon or use our Ultrasonic cleaner to get to all the hard-to-reach areas.

To have your gun professionally cleaned is cheaper than you think. In most cases, a normal gun cleaning is less than $25 for members.

"To spend top dollar for a quality firearm and not keep it cleaned is a real crime. states one customer who recently inherited his father's guns that had been neglected for years. He compared it to buying a new car and never changing the oil.

BSR recommends you have your guns professionally inspected and cleaned every six months to detect any excessive wear, structural damage or rust that may pit the firearm beyond repair.
